"My education is really important to me because it is the foundation of my entire future."

Donors like you are helping to support our campus and students like me who are the recipients of donor-funded scholarships. As a nursing student going into my senior year, scholarship support has been crucial to my time here. My education is really important to me because it is the foundation of my entire future.
When I started my clinical last fall, my schedule became so much busier and that meant that I had less time to work, and less money to purchase things such as food, books, and gas so that I could travel to my clinical location.
Because of the assistance I have received, I鈥檝e been able to focus more on my education rather than worrying so much about the cost of it, and I can work toward my dream of becoming a pediatric nurse. I can focus during my clinical work instead of worrying about the cost to get there.
My Plymouth State experience has been extremely positive. My professors have shown that they care very deeply about the education I receive. All of the nursing professors work diligently each and every day to ensure I am learning and growing. I have found a group of friends who I consider part of my family. My roommate, who is also a nursing major, has become a sister to me and I will forever be grateful to PSU for placing such an amazing person in my life.
I am one example of many students who need鈥攁nd are grateful for鈥攕upport that donors provide. Thank you for believing in Plymouth State students and the power of a Plymouth State education!
With gratitude,

Last year, New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen secured $2.1 million in congressionally directed spending to expand the Plymouth State nursing program鈥檚 physical learning space inside the Samuel Read Hall Building, including its clinical simulation lab.
鈥淲e were honored to welcome Senator Shaheen to campus to tour our current nursing facilities and simulation lab and visit with nursing students, faculty and staff. The senator鈥檚 securing of CDS funding enables PSU to continue to grow our nursing program allowing us to continue to educate New Hampshire鈥檚 next generation of nurses.鈥 鈥 President Donald Birx, Ph.D.
鈥淲e鈥檝e experienced the dire challenges posed by shortages in our nursing workforce 鈥損articularly amid the pandemic. Now is the time to invest in robust nursing training and support to put quality health care within reach for every Granite Stater. I鈥檓 excited to secure funding for PSU鈥檚 Nursing Workforce Expansion project to do just that.鈥 鈥 Senator Jeanne Shaheen
