This exhibition brings together the creative work of Pamela Anneser and Jong Kim, two accomplished graphic designers and educators whose collaborative teaching partnership spans more than 15 years. Grounded in the discipline of graphic design, their work highlights the power of complementary skill sets鈥擜nneser鈥檚 deep engagement with typography, design history, and traditional studio practices alongside Kim鈥檚 expertise in digital software, letterpress printing, and bookbinding.
As long-time colleagues and co-educators, Anneser and Kim have shaped generations of design students by offering a full-spectrum experience of the field鈥攆rom analog to digital, from concept to execution. Their teaching model integrates historical context, hands-on experimentation, and evolving technologies, fostering well-rounded and thoughtful designers.
Individually, their art practices speak with distinct voices. Anneser鈥檚 work leans into the expressive potential of type, historical visual language, and elements from the natural world, creating pieces
that feel both personal and referential. Kim鈥檚 work, in contrast, draws on precision, process, and
materiality鈥攈is books, prints, and wood-constructed forms demonstrate a reverence for the tactile
and the technological alike.
Together, their work reveals a shared love for design as both an intellectual inquiry and a physical act
of making. This exhibition explores how their parallel paths intersect鈥攕ometimes in theme, sometimes in contrast鈥攃reating a layered dialogue not only between two artists, but also between two philosophies of what it means to design, teach, and live a creative life.
